26 years old, the Dutch designer Jolan van der Wiel gratuated in July 2011 from the Amsterdam Rietvelt Academy. During his studies, Jolan  experimented with ways of using the main natural forces (gravitational force, G force, static energy, wind energy) to generate new shapes and find new inspirations.

His research led Jolan to conceive and assemble a production unit that allows to create small objects (stools, candle holders, etc), by applying a magnetic field on a mixture of resin and iron oxides. This innovative process gave way to the "Gravity" collection and have recently won Jolan van der Wiel two of the most prestigious design awards in Europe : the Berlin DMY 2012 prize, the most sought after distinction for product design in Germany, and the Cologne [D3] Contest for the 2012 Young Designer of the year. In both cases the international juries have distinguished non only the design itself, but also the remarkable innovation of the production process.
