Lamp "Olab" Grégoire de Lafforest

DESIGNER: GREGOIRE DE LAFFOREST

"To give light a sense of immateriality as if it was only a breeze… Hide the underlying technique to magnify the magic of the piece. The frame is elongated by the ball of light that tries to escape.Beyond its functional side, Olab raises curiosity and becomes an object of desire. It tells a story…" 2012

The lamp as an elevation.

The structure prevents the balloon to fly away. Immateriality of the light that seems like it is blown into the balloon. The pear triggers the light through a breath of wind sent into the coloured tube.
Like Anish Kapoor’s works, the lamp is summed up to a raising bubble…
