DESIGNER: PIERGIL FOURQUIE
Maiko refers to Japanese apprentice geisha and takes its inspiration from Japan, a country firmly in between tradition and technology.
The form is inspired by traditional Japanese rounded fans, called “Uchiwa”, that are made of paper and bamboo. Here the fan is computer made, using the new 3D printing technology. The material used, that is polyamide, gives the fan its ceramic biscuit delicate texture. A small painted wooden piece is used to bring a touch of color and to customize each piece.
DIMENSIONS: H: 29 cm - W: 18,5 cm
MATERIALS: Polyamide and oak veneer
Each piece is unique
