Although he was originally trained as an interior architect (ESAG Penninghen), Grégoire de Lafforest’s end game has always been to design furniture. This he achieved through his collaboration with some of the most renowned French interior design studios. First at Bruno Moinard’s, where he had the chance to work for the luxury world, and to familiarize himself with expensive materials such as marble, turtleshell, parchment. Then, as a counterpoint, he immersed himself in the ultra-contemporary universe of Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, made of Corian and lacquer. Today, at Gilles et Boissier, Grégoire is given a transversal project management role that gives him the opportunity to progressively build his caracteristic touch and style. In parallel, he works on personal projects for editors such as Cinna, and the galerie Gosserez.
Soft and fluid, almost minimalistic, his creations reflect his personal inspirations and desires, that go towards a sense of simplicity. His pieces of furniture are classic by design, and make use of natural, sober and warm materials. Gregoire de Lafforest’s creation have the charm of timelessness.
