Marie-Bérangère Gosserez is the director and founder of Gallery Gosserez, a gallery of contemporary design furniture that she created in 2010, after spending more than 10 years on the parisian scene of decorative arts. She had notably been an antique dealer at Les Puces flea market, specialized on ceramics of the 50’s, then coordinator for international customers at Christie’s Paris auction house, and finally an auctioneer herself at Hotel Drouot. She graduated as a certified auctioneer in 2005.
Of her long practical experience of decorative arts, Marie-Bérangère Gosserez drew a deep understanding of design, of its history, its influences, its trends and its relationship to passing time, understanding that allows her today to give priority to her own convictions and to entertain a fertile dialogue with the designers whose work she chooses to produce.
It is very much her “eye” and her subjective choice that give her collections of furniture design pieces and objects a truly unique personality.
Thanks to the work of her director, Gallery Gosserez rapidly became an emblematic showroom for a new generation of talented international designers, such as Valentin Loellmann, Elise Gabriel or Grégoire de Lafforest whilst also opening its exhibition space to well known signatures like Eric Jourdan.
Rare but functional, original and contemporary, our pieces of design furniture also include more sculptural and expressive creations, whose subtle intelligence and references to culture and history are a sure mark for true amateurs. Urgently to be discovered in showroom.
Founded in 2010 and specialised in the creation of contemporary design furniture, Gallery Gosserez showroom is located in the North-Marais (NoMa) district, very close to the Picasso Museum and a short walk from Place des Vosges, in the heart of the new Paris for creation, design and contemporary art.
Ideally positioned at the crossroad of rue Debelleyme and rue de Turenne, surrounded by the prestigious art galleries of Karsten Graeve, Thaddeus Ropac and Emmanuel Perrotin, Gallery Gosserez is the new attraction of a NoMa design trail that also includes the galleries Bensimon, BSL, Next Level and Tools.
Gallery Gosserez immediately imposed itself as a must-visit showroom for an international audience of home decorators, collectors, well informed amateurs and lovers of beautiful furniture, all of whom are welcomed in a beautiful two-level showroom and its typical vaulted basement.
Putting her feet in the 100 years of functional and decorative tradition of furniture design, Gallery Gosserez has the avowed ambition to renovate its codes and practice with its original editions of pieces of design furniture and objects.
The collections are mostly edited and produced directly by the Gallery, or shown and distributed in exclusivity. They create an elegant and refined universe, which unique character becomes more obvious with successive exhibitions.
All pieces of furniture are signed and numbered and produced one by one by the best French craftsmen or by the designers themselves.
